Motorcycle adventures for wild women

Women's Motorcycle Tour in Morocco

This fall, we’re going on a two-wheeled adventure to Chefchaouen, the magical Blue City of the Rif Mountains. Leaving from our base in Malaga, Spain, we’ll transport the bikes over to M’diq, Morocco, and set out to ride North Africa’s stunning mountain passes and valleys off-road in an all-female crew.
As we travel to the Blue City, we’ll build our skills and our confidence aboard Husqvarna dirt bikes, ride as a team, and take in the local sights and smells. Next up, we’ll do a spectacular mountain loop around Chefchaouen and sample delicious Moroccan cuisine. We’ll also get to do something good and connect with local women and girls who participate in education and co-op programs in the Rif Mountains – trust us, it’ll be an experience of a lifetime!
This tour is all about riding dirt, improving your braaping skills, and experiencing North Morocco’s culture up close and personal in the company of like-minded women riders with the opportunity to give back as we ride along.

itinerary

Day 1 | Welcome to Malaga

We’ll pick you up from the airport and get you to the Toro Trail base near Alhaurin el Grande for a meet and-greet dinner. Next up, we’ll sort out gear and turn in early – tomorrow, the adventure begins!

Day 2 | M’diq – Chefchaouen

Leaving our base, we’ll head to the port of Algeciras for the Morocco ferry. Landing in Ceuta, we’ll cross the border and unload the bikes in M’diq, get our gear on, and get going.
Today’s route will lead us along meandering mountain trails with the bright blue Mediterranean Sea shimmering in the distance, and as we slowly head inland, we’ll follow the stunning Rif Mountain backroads toward Chefchaouen – a magical mountain town where all of the Old Medina houses are painted baby blue.
We’ll have a traditional Moroccan dinner in town and overnight in a cozy hotel just outside the Medina.

Day 3 | The Blue City Loop

Today, we’ll leave Chefchaouen behind and embark on an expedition following the Blue City mountain loop, a beautiful off-road trail cresting several passes and revealing breathtaking views of the valley below. Think steep switchbacks, wild nature, and lunch at a local family farmstead complete with fresh homemade cheese and olives. Next up, we’ll add some more dirt miles and sample the Moroccan mint tea along the way before heading back to our Chefchaouen hotel.

Day 4 | Connecting with the locals

The Rif Mountains are stunning, but life for the local women and girls can be tough. Often, women in the region have little income that comes from low-paid, back-breaking farm work. Lots of girls don’t have access to education as the roads are poor or nonexistent, and few families can afford boarding schools; even then, home chores take preference over schoolwork, and for a lot of women and girls in the rural areas of Rif, literacy and opportunities to break the cycle of poverty are few.
Partnering up with RifCom, an NGO that’s helping Rif Mountain women and girls get access to education and better-paid work, we’d like to invite you to connect with the local women…and see if we can help! We’ll visit one of the women’s co-ops, chat with the local ladies and girls, and see if, perhaps, we can make a bit of a difference. More information HERE.

Day 5 | Chefchaouen – M’diq

This is our last day of riding, but we’ve saved the best for last. Leaving Chefchaouen, we’ll make our way back to M’diq riding jaw-dropping mountain passes, visiting tiny villages, and soaking up the incredible scenery. We’ll have lunch along the way, then head for M’diq for our seaside hotel and dinner.

Day 6 | Home run

Today, the bikes will be loaded up, and we’ll drive to Ceuta for the border crossing and the Algeciras ferry. We’ll end the day with a pool party at the villa, have a glorious dinner, and celebrate the Morocco adventure!

Day 7 | Airport transfer and departure. Till we ride again!
